featured project

The "Tarbot II - Weed Detection and Hoeing Robot" project received the highest score in the Food and Agriculture Category at the TUBITAK 2242 University Students Research Project Competitions, the final stage of which was held in Giresun this year. Our team that presented the project consists of our students Mahmut Çetin, Basri Samet Boylu and Mehmet Bal, and the team's academic advisor is Dr. Zafer Arıcan from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Our students, who developed an agricultural robot that can move autonomously, detect sugar beet and weeds with machine learning methods and perform weeding with the original hoeing mechanism, will receive their awards at TEKNOFEST 2022, which will be held in Samsun. We congratulate our students and their advisors and wish them continued success.
